The series 'As Above, So Below' was inspired by an out-of-body experience, a profound event that occurred many years ago. This experience ignited an exploration of the Hermetic principle, 'As above, so below' – the interconnectedness of the microcosm and the macrocosm, the reflection of the inner world in the outer, and vice versa. This principle suggests that by understanding the patterns within ourselves, we can gain insights into the workings of the universe.
The vertical dimension symbolizes our spiritual nature, our connection to something greater than ourselves, while the horizontal dimension represents our earthly experiences and actions.
The vertical dimension, 'Being,' encompasses our timeless essence, our connection to the divine, a realm of sacredness, faith, and profound intimacy. The horizontal dimension, 'Doing,' encompasses our earthly experiences, our actions, thoughts, and the pursuit of knowledge. It represents our journey towards self-realization, discovering meaning and purpose in life, and integrating all aspects of our being.
